DESCRIZIONE

DESCRIPTION

The dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a tryptamine endogenous hallucinogenic present in the cerebrospinal fluid of humans.

The DMT is present in some varieties of mimosa, acacia, ferrule, desmodium, phalaris species of grasses, Anadenanthera and many other plants.
The extraction is possible with some solvents such as alcohol, gasoline, hexane, or by distillation.

Structurally, DMT is analogous to the neurotransmitter serotonin, the hormone melatonin, and other psychoactive tryptamines.
In fact, the pineal gland in the brain is able to produce DMT during REM dream.

HISTORY

The use of plants containing DMT is an ancient practice.
The indigenous peoples of Brazil and their shamans used in rituals to get in touch with the spirits or medical practices.
A friar in 1496 during the second expedition of Columbus watched some Indians sniffing a preparation of DMT.
It was first synthesized in 1931 by chemist Richard Manske.
from 1955 the DMT has been found in at least 50 plant species and 4 of animals.

BIOSYNTHESIS

The DMT is a derivative of tryptophan with two methyl groups added amine nitrogen atom (N).
The synthesis begins with the decarboxylation of tryptophan by an enzyme-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase (AADC).
The tryptophan is decarboxylated tryptamine.
It undergoes methylation by the enzyme indoletilamina-N-methyltransferase (INMT) that catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from the cofactor S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) to tryptamine.
This reaction generates the intermediate product N-methyltryptamine (NMT).
NMT will methylate again, forming the final product N, N-dimethyl-tryptamine (DMT).

RECRUITMENT

It can be assumed smoking it or inhaling the vapors directly through the nose.

EFFECTS

A few seconds after taking the vapors are having visual hallucinations and alterations of all perceptions.
After this first state of "semi-consciousness" to go to a state in which the body's "sleeping".
Within ten minutes the hallucinations lose vividness and in 10-20 minutes you back to normal.
